Burkina Faso : The Minister of Defense Kassoum Coulibaly, subscribes to the popular shareholding for community development
On December 19, 2023, in Ouagadougou, the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Kassoum Coulibaly, surrounded by his collaborators, joined the popular shareholding initiative launched by the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC). In addition to their commitment on the ground for the reconquest of the national territory, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) aspire to play an active role in the endogenous development supported by the Transitional Government.
The Minister of Defense Coulibaly emphasized that his department’s participation in this program is a response to the call of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to all institutions and social strata. He stressed that the military cannot remain on the sidelines of this call, as it already benefits from the efforts of the population for its functioning. For him, investing in popular shareholding is a way to prepare for the future, both for the present and for future generations.
This initiative was also presented as an example to follow, with the minister calling on all army personnel to subscribe to this initiative. APEC praised this commitment of the military authorities as a strong sign of their daily involvement in both the defense of the territory and the development of the country. Dr. Abdramane Sanon, in charge of promoting community entrepreneurship at APEC, announced that teams would be deployed in the field to facilitate the subscription of different army units to this popular shareholding program.
