DRC : Candidate Tshisekedi Closer to Congolese, CENI Activates for Successful Process
Simultaneously, the electoral campaign and the process leading to the vote on December 20 continue. Various candidates, including the incumbent president Félix Tshisekedi, are continuing their charm offensive among the Congolese population. Just three days before the election, candidates are intensifying their presence on the ground.
Candidate No. 20, Félix Tshisekedi, visited Kananga and Kikwit to win over the electorate in these areas. The message emphasizes the liberation of Congo and the continuation of major projects initiated during his first term.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) is actively preparing for the event. Sensitization sessions on the use of Electronic Voting Devices (DEV) have been organized for the population. These awareness campaigns will continue until December 19, the day before the election.
In addition, a meeting between CENI and the Council of State took place to harmonize views on the future management of electoral results disputes.
On the security front, measures are being put in place to ensure the smooth running of the process. In this regard, 150 police officers from the Mobile Intervention Group (GMI) have been trained in public order maintenance with the mission of crowd management.
In summary, everything is ready for December 20 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
