Burkina Faso: Head of State Honors Public Media During Visit to RTB and Presents Equipment Worth Over 130 Million XOF to Support Journalists
The President of the Transition and Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, made a surprise visit to the Burkina Faso Broadcasting Corporation (RTB) on Friday, December 15, 2023, in the early morning, in the presence of officials from public media.
The purpose of this visit was to congratulate the public media for their daily commitment and initiatives in supporting the implementation of the Transition’s missions. Captain Ibrahim TRAORE expressed his admiration for the remarkable work of the staff of Éditions Sidwaya and RTB despite limited resources.
«Since the beginning of this period we are going through, we have observed the perseverance of Éditions Sidwaya and RTB. Despite limited means, you are doing exceptional work. It was important for me to come and encourage and congratulate you» emphasized the President of the Transition, encouraging all media to contribute to boosting the forces engaged on various fronts.
Captain Ibrahim TRAORE acknowledged the participation of other media in the dynamic support of the Transition and support for the Defense and Security Forces, expressing satisfaction and reaffirming the government’s support for all media.
In order to improve the working conditions of journalists, the Head of State handed over equipment worth over 130 million CFA francs, including mainly editing tables, cameras, sound recording and processing equipment, computers, and printers.
