Togo/Congo: The Leaders of both countries review their bilateral relations

Present at Dubai to take part in the proceedings of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP28), the President of the Republic of Togo, Faure Gnassingbe, and his counterpart from Congo, Denis Sassou N’Guesso, held a meeting to discuss matters concerning them.

According to reports, the two heads of state particularly discussed the 2020 agreements signed between the two countries regarding mutual exemption of diplomatic and service visas, as well as the development of economic partnership between the ports of Lomé and Pointe-Noire.

Another agreement discussed at this meeting involves establishing a partnership between the two chambers of commerce in Lomé and Brazzaville, aiming to further relationships between the private sectors of both countries.

Several bilateral agreements were discussed to strengthen political and economic cooperation between the Republic of Togo and the Republic of Congo. The discussions between the two leaders also revolved around the issues of the ongoing climate conference in Dubai, during which both countries intend to advocate for their priorities and mobilize funding.

All these subjects of common interest between Togo and Congo were addressed during the meeting of the two heads of state in Dubai. The idea was to capitalize on the achievements of their cooperation and to identify the challenges that remain to achieve a perfect bilateral cooperation beneficial to both peoples.
