Burkina-Faso/ 3rd edition of the ‘Youth Pedal Stroke’ in Orodara: Mamadou Ballo and Honorine Baro emerge as winners

Cyclists Mamadou Ballo and Honorine Baro emerged victorious on Sunday in Orodara, known as the city of orchards, during the 3rd edition of the cycling race named the «Youth Pedal Stroke of Orodara».

«The role of Orodara’s youth in promoting social cohesion and peace in Burkina Faso» was the theme of this edition, which saw the participation of around sixty young cyclists (both boys and girls).

According to the organizer, Nazaire Konaté, the objective of this event is to foster cohesion among the youth of Orodara through sports, particularly cycling. Emmanuel Konaté, the president of the special delegation of the Orodara municipality, praised the promoter’s initiative, aiming to unite young people around the ideal of sports. He expressed his readiness to support this initiative within his means.

The sponsors, voiced by Mrs. Awa Traoré, expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the organizer for involving them in this sporting event. The ceremony’s patron, Massa Traoré, also the village chief of Orodara, echoed similar sentiments. On the occasion, he extended blessings to the Organizing Committee.

Ultimately, in the men’s category, Mamadou Ballo secured the first position, while in the women’s category, Gnidé Honorine Barro claimed the trophy. The finalists of this third edition of the ‘Youth Pedal Stroke’ received both cash and in-kind prizes.
