Burkina Faso: The government of Burkina Faso, under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, is putting its house in order to revitalise the administration

Under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, the Burkinabe government is resolutely committed to invigorating the administration. Recently, the Minister of Higher Education, Professor Adjima Thiombiano, reaffirmed this commitment by issuing clear directives to the heads of his department.

During a meeting held last Friday, Professor Thiombiano highlighted the delays and occasional laxity in handling administrative matters, which have hampered the ministry’s operations.

To address these issues, he urged officials to double their dedication and effort to achieve tangible results.

While acknowledging the efforts already made, the minister emphasized the need for bold reforms and calculated risks to modernize the structures.

He also stressed the importance of normalizing academic years in universities by the end of 2024, urging each university president to implement effective monitoring mechanisms to achieve this goal.

Regarding social services, Professor Thiombiano instructed the National Center for University Services and the National Fund for Education and Research to undertake initiatives to improve the living and studying conditions of students.

Finally, in terms of governance, the minister called for a reduction in operating expenses to ensure a more efficient use of resources.

This strong determination displayed by the government under the presidency of President Ibrahim Traoré reflects a clear intent to energize the administration and meet the expectations of the citizens.
