2023 AFCON/Impact : The FIF distributes over 800 million CFA francs to local stakeholders
Everything is going swimmingly at the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF). Just over two weeks after winning the Africa Cup of Nations at home (2-1) against Nigeria, the federation made a significant gesture towards its constituents. On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, during the official ceremony to present the AFCON trophy to the football family, Idriss Diallo brought immense joy to his constituents.
The announcement made by the Executive Director, Armand Gohourou, concerns a total amount of 840 million CFA francs distributed among various entities: the Professional Football League offices (2.5 million CFA francs), the Amateur Football League (2.5 million CFA francs), clubs from Ligue 1, 2, and Division 3 (400 million CFA francs), Regional Leagues (12 million CFA francs), match commissioners (7 million CFA francs), and independent commissions (12.5 million CFA francs). Women’s football receives record support (104 million CFA francs), as well as regional division (107 million CFA francs) and interest groups (25 million CFA francs). Additionally, sports journalist associations (5 million CFA francs) were not forgotten.
In addition to injecting a significant amount of money into various local football structures, Idriss Diallo and his team, currently comfortable in fulfilling their campaign promises, announced the donation of 40 team transport buses to Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs.
