Burkina Faso : H.E Ibrahim Traoré, the architect of renewal, calls for unity for a prosperous Burkina Faso

H.E Ibrahim Traoré, President of the Transition and Head of State of Burkina Faso, delivered a passionate speech during the commemoration of the popular uprising of January 3, 1966, urging all Burkinabé, especially trade unions, to unite their forces to build a strong, sovereign, stable, and prosperous nation.

The date of January 3 remains an indelible scar in the history of Burkina Faso, symbolizing resistance against misgovernance under the regime of Maurice Yaméogo. Aware of the significance of this commemoration, Ibrahim Traoré emphasized the need to transcend divisions and work collectively for the good of the nation.

« On this day of remembrance, I make a passionate appeal to all Burkinabé. To trade unions, worker associations, professional orders, I say : let us unite to build together a strong, sovereign, stable, and prosperous nation ». declared the President of the Transition.

Captain Traoré acknowledges the crucial role of trade unions and social actors in the country’s development. He sees them as essential partners in the quest for a fair and prosperous society.
