Morocco: The 6th Russia-Arab World cooperation forum opens on Wednesday

The 6th Russia-Arab World Cooperation Forum kicks off on Wednesday 20 December in Marrakech.

This regional meeting, held at foreign minister level, is chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Resident Abroad, Nasser Bourita.

The meeting will be attended by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, the Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League, Houssam Zaki, and ministerial delegations from the participating Arab states.

Morocco was designated to host this edition of the Forum at the previous edition held in April 2019 in Moscow.

It was agreed that this edition would be held in the format of an enlarged Troika comprising the Secretary-General of the Arab League, the three members of the Arab Ministerial Troika and the Presidency of the Arab Summit.

The Forum will examine issues of cooperation between Russia and the Arab world, in accordance with current practices.

The importance of this Russia-Arab World Cooperation Forum has grown in recent years as a platform for exchanging views and coordinating positions on various regional and international issues, taking into account the interests and priorities linking the Arab and Russian parties in the political, economic and commercial fields.
