Togo / President Faure Gnassingbé’s visionary project for the harmonious development of Togo’s road network

In a visionary move, President Faure Gnassingbé is driving the harmonious development of Togo’s  national road network, as the Ministry of Public Works launches an international call for tenders. This marks a decisive stage in realizing the policy of providing road infrastructure across the country.

This initiative forms part of ambitious projects to create a coherent national road network, fostering economic, social, and cultural development on a national scale.

The targeted road, featuring a 7.4-meter wide carriageway, transcends being merely transport infrastructure.

It signifies a vital corridor set to open up an area near National Route 1, mitigating road insecurity risks and creating new trade opportunities across the country.

Scheduled to begin in April 2024, the two-year completion timeline underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to efficiently delivering these projects on time, reflecting its determination to swiftly enhance national connectivity.

This initiative aligns with a broader context, including other significant projects like the Sokodé bypass, showcasing a holistic approach to fortifying the entire Togo’s road network.

The development of the national road network, as envisioned by President Faure Gnassingbé, is expected to open up new economic opportunities for the population. It also aim to enhance road safety by reducing risks associated with inadequate infrastructure.
