Gabon: The transitional government has been named. Raymond Ndong Sima appoints 25 members of staff
The members of Gabon’s new executive have been known for three days. With a total of 26 members, the government unveiled by Raymond NDONG SIMA is made up of former opponents and ex-ministers of ousted President Ali Bongo, as well as members of the military and civil society. Surprisingly, apart from the new head of government, there are no prominent figures from the former opposition in the presidential election (Alternance 2023) in the new executive. Neither the coalition candidate Albert ONDO OSSA, nor Alexandre BARRO Chambrier of the Rally for the Homeland and Modernity (RPM), or Paulette MISSAMBO, of the Union nationale (UN) are included.
