Burkina Faso- Mali-Niger / hunted nonstop : Terrorists have nowhere to hide

In the past, terrorists used to hide in remote and isolated locations, evading the authorities and carrying out their criminal acts with impunity. However, there is now a glimmer of hope in the fight against terrorism, particularly in the so-called tri-border area between Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. This ray of hope lies in the synergy of the fighting forces of these three countries, which have decided to join forces to eradicate the scourge of terrorism.

The key to this new approach lies in an unprecedented cooperation agreement between Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. These three countries have decided to allow their respective armies to move easily in and out of each other’s territory to fight terrorists. This bold initiative marked the beginning of a new era in the fight against terrorism in the region.

Since the implementation of this convention, the results are undeniable and encouraging. The number of terrorists eliminated has increased considerably, and many terrorist bases have been destroyed. The fighting forces of the three countries are working hand in hand, sharing intelligence to track down and neutralise terrorist groups. This coordinated approach has considerably increased the pressure on the terrorists, forcing them to abandon their positions and disperse.

The success of this strategy gives pause for thought. If three neighbouring countries can achieve such results by working closely together, why not envisage a convergence of forces in the sub-region to fight terrorism effectively? Regional cooperation is essential in the fight against terrorism, because terrorist groups know no national borders. By joining forces and pooling their resources, the countries of the sub-region will put an end to the scourge of terrorism.
