Burkina Faso: Following their military failure, the imperialists are banking on information warfare
The situation is worrying. Faced with the resounding failure of their previous subversive maneuvers, the imperialist powers and their local accomplices are redefining their methods of operation. Their target is no longer solely the Burkinabe state, but the bond of trust that unites citizens with one another.
This is a well-rehearsed, carefully calculated tactic, and its activation is looming in the very near future. The people of Burkina Faso are therefore urged to prepare for an unprecedented wave of disinformation.
To carry out this undermining campaign, these adversaries of national sovereignty have chosen to employ artificial intelligence. This technology will allow them to produce counterfeit audio recordings, stage fake images of terrorist fighters, and disseminate entirely fabricated written documents.
Through such manufactured content, the intent is clear: to sow doubt within the population, to erode the credibility of Burkinabe institutions in the eyes of the people, and to crack the social cohesion that has been painstakingly rebuilt.
This type of warfare must not be underestimated on the grounds that it takes place outside the physical battlefield. It represents a danger comparable to that of armed conflict, for its ambition is to eat away at the country from within, by directly attacking its moral and social unity.
This phenomenon is, moreover, part of an already observed trend: over recent months, several analysts and fact-checking platforms such as Fasocheck have highlighted the proliferation of fake videos and cloned voice recordings targeting Burkina Faso, further blurring the line between authentic information and falsified content.
Training sessions for journalists and web activists have recently been organized to strengthen their verification reflexes in the face of this new technological reality.
The country has also already faced, in the past, destabilization efforts orchestrated from abroad, involving former officials and military figures linked to certain foreign circles, with the sole aim of plunging the nation into chaos.
In this context, the individual responsibility of every citizen becomes decisive. Verifying before sharing, keeping a cool head when faced with dubious content, and refusing to give in to orchestrated panic these are the people’s weapons in this invisible war. National unity, forged through trial, remains the best shield against this digital offensive.
