Burkina Faso: About 50 terrorists neutralized in the locality of Bara.
The Burkinabe army and its auxiliaries have neutralized around fifty «terrorists» in response to a “major attack” against a team of military personnel and volunteers for the defense of the homeland (VDP, civilian auxiliaries of the army) in the locality of Barani in the Kossi province in northwestern Burkina Faso, near the border with Mali, according to security and local sources as reported by Anadolu on Sunday.
«The combat forces promptly responded on Saturday to a terrorist assault in the Barani area (Kossi), which allowed them to neutralize about fifty assailants».
Confirming the information to Anadolu, a local security source, who preferred to remain anonymous, stated over the phone that «the terrorists, in large numbers on motorcycles, attacked a joint unit of the army and VDP. The counterattack, supported by aerial means, succeeded in routing them».
«Fifty terrorists were killed», said a former local official speaking on condition of anonymity. The army’s casualty toll is not available, according to the two sources.
AIB (Information Agency of Burkina Faso) specified that it was when the «terrorists» had gathered under a tree to assess the assault they had launched against the army that they were «decimated by strikes», adding that the Burkinabe army were continuing their operations to restore territorial integrity and peace on all fronts.

Addressing the parliament on Tuesday, Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachimson Kyélem de Tambèla stated that, nowadays, the Burkinabe state controls 65% of its territory and that the defense and security forces are engaged in reclaiming territorial integrity.
At least 50 “terrorists” were neutralized on Wednesday by the Burkinabe army in response to an ambush in northern Burkina Faso, the Burkinabe army announced in a statement on Thursday.
