NBA/ Giannis buzzer-beater sinks Pacers as struggling Indiana falls to 1-6

Giannis Antetokounmpo broke Indiana’s hearts with a 17-foot jumper at the buzzer, sealing a dramatic 117-115 victory for the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night. The loss extends a nightmare start for the Pacers, last season’s NBA finalists, who have now dropped six of their first seven games.

Despite a standout performance from Pascal Siakam, who posted 32 points and 8 assists, the short-handed Pacers fell short in the final seconds.

The game was fiercely contested throughout, echoing the intensity of recent playoff clashes where Indiana eliminated Milwaukee in the first round in each of the past two seasons.

The Bucks were led by Antetokounmpo’s 33 points and 13 rebounds, while former Pacers center Myles Turner now with Milwaukee was met with a chorus of boos in his return to Indianapolis.

Indiana mounted a late comeback, erasing an 11-point deficit in the final six minutes and tying the game on an Aaron Nesmith layup with 14.6 seconds remaining.

But after a timeout, the Bucks inbounded to Antetokounmpo, who created just enough space to sink the game-winner and deepen Indiana’s early-season woes.
