Mali: Armed forces inflict heavy losses on terrorist groups in the Bougouni region

The Malian Armed Forces have once again demonstrated their operational superiority on the ground. On Saturday, October 11, 2025, Malian Army combat helicopters conducted a series of highly precise airstrikes against active terrorist groups in the Bougouni region, in the south of the country.
According to corroborating military sources, the strikes primarily targeted the Manankoro sector, where several enemy positions, identified as shelters and logistical bases for armed groups, were destroyed.
The operations, coordinated from the Sikasso air command, succeeded in neutralizing a significant number of terrorist fighters and severely degrading their ability to operate in the area.
These decisive actions are part of the integrated security strategy implemented by the General Staff of the Armed Forces under the high command of General Oumar Diarra.
The strategy aims to retake full control of areas previously infiltrated by armed groups while ensuring the free movement of people and goods.
This latest victory adds to a series of successful operations recently carried out in several regions of the country, confirming the growing power of the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) in both logistical and tactical terms.
Better equipped and now fully sovereign in its defense strategy, the Malian army continues to establish a posture of deterrence against terrorist threats.
