Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré’s vision in action for a strong army and lasting peace

Burkina Faso has reached a new milestone in its quest for sovereignty and lasting peace with the official launch of the Tiefo Amoro Institute of Higher Military Education (IEMS-TA). The event, chaired by His Excellency Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean-Emmanuel OUEDRAOGO, reflects the firm will of the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, to build a modern, educated, and forward-looking military.

Born from the vision of the Head of State, the mission of the IEMS-TA is to provide Burkina Faso with an endogenous capacity for higher military education and training.

This institution thus becomes a strategic pillar for strengthening national expertise, reducing external dependence, and promoting a Burkinabe approach to security and defense.

The Institute brings together three major structures: The War College, the Staff College, and the National Armed Forces Doctrine Center.

By bearing the name of Tiefo Amoro, a hero of the resistance against colonization, it embodies the historical continuity between ancestral courage and the contemporary determination to defend the homeland.

Through this initiative, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ confirms his vision of a Burkina Faso that is the master of its own security destiny.

As the Prime Minister recalled, the ambition is to “train a national military elite focused on the study of war and the pursuit of peace.”

This commitment marks a decisive step towards consolidating a lasting peace for the benefit of the Burkinabe people.
