Burkina Faso – Ghana: effective collaboration in the fight against corruption

In Tema, Ghana, a conference dedicated to the fight against corruption brought together the Burkinabe community living abroad. Organized by national oversight bodies and supported by diplomatic representation, this initiative highlighted the need to promote integrity as a cornerstone of sovereignty and civic responsibility.

The event marked a significant step forward in promoting a diplomacy of integrity, carrying beyond borders the message of a Burkina Faso committed to transparency and good governance. Holding this conference in a partner country underscores the importance of transnational collaboration to confront a scourge that knows no national boundaries.

The meeting gathered numerous participants from the Burkinabe diaspora, all made aware of their role in combating corruption.

Emphasis was placed on civic responsibility: every refusal to engage in corrupt practices was presented as an act of patriotism and a contribution to the nation’s standing.

By highlighting how corruption heavily impedes development, the discussions underscored the importance of making integrity a shared value, both within the country and among Burkinabe communities abroad.

The conference also highlighted the strong partnership between Burkinabe and Ghanaian authorities, who enthusiastically supported the initiative.

This cooperation reflects a shared understanding: corruption is a systemic scourge that demands a collective, coordinated, and cross-border response.

Beyond the speeches, the Tema event symbolizes a strong conviction: integrity is a pillar of national sovereignty, and its reinforcement must extend beyond territorial limits.

By choosing to raise awareness among the diaspora in an international setting, Burkina Faso sends a powerful signal the fight against corruption is not merely an internal affair; it is universal and calls for everyone’s mobilization.
