Burkina Faso graduates 502 new gendarmes in boost to security Forces

In a significant reinforcement of its security forces, Burkina Faso has officially graduated the 51st class of the National School of Gendarmerie Non-Commissioned Officers (ENSOG), named “Nagou-zanga.” The ceremony underscores the country’s determined response to ongoing security challenges through strategic investment in human resources.
The new cohort includes 502 junior non-commissioned officers, 16 of whom are women, all now joining the national armed forces.
They completed 23 months of rigorous moral, physical, and tactical training, including operational field placements, preparing them for immediate deployment.
The graduation reflects the commitment of Burkina Faso to strengthening defense capabilities under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of Defense General Célestin Simporé.
The new gendarmes embody core values of discipline, resilience, and professionalism essential to counterterrorism operations.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to equip Burkinabe security forces with well-trained, dedicated personnel capable of protecting national sovereignty and ensuring citizen safety in a volatile regional environment.
