Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré pays tribute to Burkina Faso’s Defense and Security Forces

During the traditional flag-raising ceremony, which was special this time due to the hoisting of the Confederation of AES flag alongside the national colors, President Ibrahim Traoré expressed his deep gratitude to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

He praised their sacrifice and dedication in the ongoing fight against terrorism.

The head of state honored the bravery and professionalism of these forces, highlighting their crucial role in reclaiming national territory.

He pointed to the encouraging military achievements in February 2025, demonstrating steady progress toward securing the country and protecting civilians.

Traoré emphasized the need for unwavering determination and resilience to ensure final victory over armed groups, reinforcing hope for a more stable and peaceful Burkina Faso.

He also commended the security forces for their efforts in ensuring the smooth and successful organization of the FESPACO, a major Pan-African film and television festival.

Through his remarks, he reaffirmed his unwavering support for the country’s defenders, who remain committed to restoring peace and sovereignty across the nation.
