Burkina Faso: President’s staff set an example in tax compliance

Encouraging tax compliance and motivating the Burkinabe population to willingly fulfill their civic duties—particularly those related to taxation—are among the key objectives of the Tax Exemplarity Days, an initiative hosted at the Presidency of Faso.

As part of this effort, tax administration services were temporarily relocated to the presidential palace, allowing all personnel to settle their taxes and duties on-site.

According to the Director of the President’s Cabinet, Captain Martha Céleste Anderson Dekomwin Medah, this initiative serves as a means for the institution responsible for mobilizing state financial resources to engage more closely with citizens.

Given its crucial role in funding development projects, promoting tax responsibility and civic duty among taxpayers is essential to the success of its mission.

Under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso is advancing toward self-sufficiency, financing its own defense efforts, and investing in major structural projects to achieve full sovereignty.

In this context, it is vital for citizens to contribute to a stable, efficient, and beneficial tax system that strengthens the nation.

The event also provided an opportunity for the Director of Cabinet to urge his fellow citizens to embrace tax compliance as a patriotic and civic obligation. « All Burkinabe should follow this example, making tax payment a regular habit in our daily lives, » he emphasized.
