DRC: Félix Tshisekedi calls for enhanced coordination between presidency and government

During the 56th meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Friday, August 29, 2025,  Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo emphasized the critical need for close and harmonized collaboration between his office and the government led by Prime Minister Judith Suminwa.

The Head of State reiterated that the current administration must be a “government of action and results,” tasked with implementing the six major commitments of his political vision a pact of trust with the Congolese people.

Achieving these objectives, he stated, depends on rigorous monitoring, regular evaluation of key projects, and, most importantly, synergy between the Presidency and the Prime Minister’s office.

“Only through this can we achieve the results our Nation expects,” President Tshisekedi asserted, underscoring the importance of institutional discipline and strict adherence to the Constitution, national laws, and relevant governmental ordinances.

To ensure coherence and effectiveness in public policy, the President called for the establishment of a clear and efficient collaboration mechanism.

This structure aims to improve the flow of information, enable effective decision follow-up, and enhance accountability within the government.

Prime Minister Judith Suminwa has been tasked with developing the guidelines for this framework, in consultation with her cabinet. The goal is to translate presidential commitments into concrete, measurable outcomes that directly benefit the Congolese population.

Through this directive, President Félix Tshisekedi reaffirms his commitment to using institutional coordination as a key lever to accelerate reforms, strengthen governance, and improve the living conditions of the Congolese people.
