President Félix Tshisekedi has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to resolving the security and humanitarian crisis in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), emphasizing dialogue with diverse social and political groups within the country.
On Tuesday evening, he held a crucial meeting with the national deputies from Ituri province, assessing the situation on the ground and discussing actionable measures to restore peace, particularly in Goma, the capital of North Kivu.
This engagement reflects his determination to involve all stakeholders in finding lasting solutions and reassuring the affected populations that they are not forgotten.
According to Mbodina Iribi, the spokesperson for the caucus, the parliamentary representatives engaged in an open and detailed discussion with the President, who listened attentively to their concerns.
President Tshisekedi urged them to play an active role in promoting peace by amplifying the government’s message to the public and supporting the military and local militia forces operating in the region. He reiterated his resolve to continue the fight against insecurity until lasting stability is achieved, ensuring that the state will do everything in its power to restore authority and peace to the region.
This direct dialogue underscores a participatory governance model, where every actor plays a role in the nation’s healing. By calling on Ituri’s elected officials to raise awareness and bolster support for military forces on the front lines, President Tshisekedi demonstrates his inclusive and proactive approach in managing the crisis, with a clear focus on peace and the dignity of the Congolese people.
