Burkina Faso launches “Faso Arzeka” to boost digital payments and transparency
On Thursday, January 30, Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo officially launched “Faso Arzeka,” a new digital platform designed to facilitate electronic payments. This innovative initiative aligns with the country’s ongoing digital transformation, providing citizens with a more efficient and accessible way to interact with public services.
The platform simplifies money transfers and bill payments, ensuring speed, reliability, and security in financial transactions.
Beyond its practical benefits, « Faso Arzeka » is also a powerful tool in the fight against corruption, reinforcing transparency within government operations—an objective strongly advocated by President Ibrahim Traoré.
President Traoré has previously emphasized the need to digitize administrative processes to curb corruption and enhance efficiency in public institutions.
The introduction of this platform marks a crucial step in realizing that vision.
Speaking at the launch, Prime Minister Ouédraogo highlighted the significance of this milestone, stating that “Burkina Faso is making a decisive leap towards modernizing its payment system.”
He underscored that this initiative is part of a broader national digital transformation strategy aimed at ensuring effective and transparent public financial management.
Efforts will continue to expand digital services, further enhancing accessibility and efficiency for citizens.
