FIFA World Cup 2026 draw set for Washington D.C.

The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place on December 5 at 16:00 GMT at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, FIFA announced on Friday.
The event will determine the group stage matchups for the 48 qualified nations ahead of the tournament, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the draw as “a major milestone” in the preparations for what is anticipated to be the largest sporting event in history.
He expressed enthusiasm about hosting the ceremony in the U.S. capital, a cultural hub that will welcome team delegations, partners, media, and fans from all 16 host cities.
The 2026 World Cup will be the first to feature 48 teams and is set to be the most expansive edition of the tournament to date.
