Mali: Health cooperation strengthened through the Bamako-Moscow Medical Forum

The Mali-Russia Medical Forum, held in Bamako, marks a decisive step in strengthening bilateral relations between Mali and the Russian Federation in the health sector.
Organized by the associations “Perspective Sahélienne” and “African Initiative”, with the support of the Health Commission of the National Transitional Council (CNT), the event brought together experts, researchers, and industry leaders from both countries around a common ambition: to build a resilient, sovereign, and forward-looking healthcare system.
Through in-depth discussions and video conferences from Moscow, participants laid the groundwork for lasting cooperation in medical research, clinical practice, pharmaceutical sovereignty, and the local manufacturing of medicines.

This strategic partnership underscores a strong political will to break with foreign dependency and promote health autonomy based on the transfer of skills, innovation, and solidarity.
The Mali-Russia Medical forum serves as a call to action, urging the mobilization of resources and the commitment of partners to make Mali-Russia cooperation a cornerstone of the transformation of the Malian health system.
The Malian government has welcomed this new dynamic, which signals a promising era in health diplomacy between the two nations. It demonstrates a shared determination to guarantee every citizen equitable access to quality care, while asserting the country’s sovereignty in its strategic public health choices.
