AfroBasket 2025/ Senegal and Mali advance in the quaterfinals with dominant performances

Senegal secured their spot in the AfroBasket 2025 quarterfinals with a commanding 78-65 victory over South Sudan. The Lions dominated early, leading 48-25 at halftime after a crushing 25-7 second quarter.
Captain Brancou Badio shone with 31 points, 21 of which came in the first half. Senegal will now face Nigeria in the next round.
Meanwhile, Mali edged out Guinea 70-67 in a thrilling playoff clash. Trailing entering the final quarter, Mali rallied with a 17-12 run to seal the win.
Aliou Fadiala Diarra led the charge with 15 points and 12 rebounds, supported by Ibrahima Chérif Aïdara (14 points) and Omari Ballo (10 points).
The Eagles will now take on 2023 finalists Côte d’Ivoire in the quarterfinals.
