Togo: Under the impetus of President Faure Gnassingbé, the government is stepping up its efforts to strengthen national security
Under the directive of President Faure Gnassingbé, the Togolese government is intensifying its efforts to strengthen national security and address transnational threats. A major step forward was marked on Tuesday, December 17, with the inauguration of the Criminal Analysis Unit (ANACRIM) in Lomé.
Housed within the Togo Police Information Center (CIPT), this unit is part of the regional SIPAO program, which promotes the sharing of police information and enhances the capacity of security services.
ANACRIM centralizes and analyzes strategic data, equipping law enforcement agencies with advanced tools to anticipate and counter emerging threats.
This development reflects a proactive strategy in tackling the growing complexities of global security challenges.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Minister of Security and Civil Protection, Calixte Batossie Madjoulba, highlighted the necessity of modern tools to effectively combat evolving threats.
ANACRIM is set to improve the responsiveness of Togolese security forces by providing precise and strategic intelligence, enabling them to take preventive action and effectively address new forms of crime.
Faced with the persistent threat of terrorism in its northern regions, Togo views this unit as a critical asset in maintaining stability and safeguarding national security.
The government is committed to supporting this initiative by investing in its sustainability and maximizing its impact.
Through this endeavor, President Faure Gnassingbé reaffirms his vision of a secure and resilient Togo, prepared to confront contemporary security challenges.
