Burkina Faso/ Fight against terrorism: The army has to keep high its sens of patriotism
Patriotism is not only the concern of the populations and the civilians. It is also the matter of the army.
It’s an open secret; since Captain Ibrahim Traoré took office in September 2022, restoring security has been a top priority in Burkina Faso. The government is making every effort to combat terrorism.
Therefore, the people placed its hope on President Ibrahim Traoré to find a solution to the current crisis. He is leading the fight with determination.
As efforts that the government has been making, we have the delivery of equipment. We have also the adoptions of new strategies in particular the change of the military partner following the termination of the military agreement with France.
These measures aim at giving an end to the crisis as soon as possible and restoring peace to the country.
The Burkinabe armed forces have gained strength following their successful efforts in neutralizing a considerable number of terrorists and reclaiming several territories that were under the control of jihadists.
The decision by the authorities to strengthen ties with the Russian Federation is commendable. This cooperation will allow the Burkinabe army, in addition to its current equipment, to benefit from the most sophisticated equipment of Russia.
Other strategies in the fight against terrorism in Burkina Faso include caring for internally displaced persons, conducting awareness campaigns against radicalization, and mobilizing the population in support of the army.
At their sides, the troops on the ground have to maintain a high level of patriotism and to continue fighting because there is a government that is very concerned and a nation that is waiting for results.
« Administrative measures will be taken to improve the living and working conditions of soldiers on the front lines, in order to enable them to be more effective in their operations on the field», reassured President Ibrahim Traoré, to motivate them.
