Burkina Faso: Ouagadougou hosts the HCNRSI General Assembly in the presence of H.E. Dr Apollinnaire Joachimson Kyélem de Tambèla

On Thursday, November 7, 2024, Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, hosted the General Assembly of the National High Council for Scientific Research and Innovation (HCNRSI).

This pivotal event in the nation’s scientific and technological landscape was held under the theme “Mechanisms for Technology Transfer: Financial Challenges and Research Perspectives.”

The gathering, led by Prime Minister Dr. Apollinnaire Joachimson Kyélem de Tambèla, brought together researchers, policymakers, and partners with a shared mission: to strengthen scientific research as a driving force for national development.

This year’s theme emphasized the critical need for effective technology transfer, aiming to bridge the gap between research centers and the industrial and economic sectors.

Such a process is vital to fostering innovation and enhancing Burkina Faso’s competitiveness on the global stage.

The HCNRSI also seeks to boost public-private collaboration to secure consistent funding for scientific research. Improved coordination among these sectors could address financial hurdles and maximize the economic and social benefits that scientific advancements bring to the country.

With this General Assembly, Burkina Faso has laid the groundwork for a comprehensive approach to establish itself as a competitive, innovative nation.

Through strategic use of scientific research, the country aims to advance sustainable development and drive future progress.
