AES/Critical period: Burkina Faso under threat of foreign destabilisation attempts
From mid-November until the end of December, this period is particularly sensitive for Burkina Faso, as there may be an increased risk of destabilization attempts. Given France’s recent disruptive actions in other African nations around this time, the Burkinabe people are urged to remain vigilant.
A recently leaked document from sources connected to the French Directorate of Military Intelligence (DRM) indicates potential upcoming attempts to undermine Burkina Faso, led by President Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
The document suggests that France and its intelligence services may be preparing to interfere, with teams allegedly positioned and supported by neighboring countries.
While Burkina Faso is currently receiving many foreign visitors, not all have benign intentions.
Some are believed to be operating undercover, coordinating with local contacts to lay the groundwork for French operations.
In light of these concerns, Burkinabe authorities are encouraged to scrutinize the background and intentions of recent foreign visitors.
Reinforced border controls and monitoring could help counter potential efforts to compromise Burkina Faso’s stability.
