2025 Women’s Handball World Cup: Four african teams ready

The 2025 IHF Women’s Handball World Championship, co-hosted by Germany and the Netherlands from November 26 to December 14, will feature four African squads: Senegal, Egypt, Tunisia, and Angola. The group-stage draw has set their paths, with tough matchups ahead.

Senegal faces Hungary, Switzerland, and Iran in Group B, while Egypt takes on hosts Netherlands, Austria, and Argentina in Group ETunisia battles world-class opponents in Group F, including France, Poland, and China.

Meanwhile, Angola must contend with Norway, South Korea, and Kazakhstan in Group H.

Other notable groups include Denmark, Romania, Japan, and Croatia (Group A), and Germany, Serbia, Iceland, and Uruguay (Group C). The tournament promises fierce competition as teams vie for the title.

For Africa’s representatives, this is a chance to shine on the global stage with Senegal and Angola aiming to build on past performances, while Egypt and Tunisia seek breakthroughs. The road to the knockout phase won’t be easy, but surprises could be in store.
