Burkina Faso/ Mali: Europe equips Azawad Rebel’s group with dangerous missiles

The security situation in Mali and Burkina Faso should be of greater concern to the authorities of these two countries. Despite their demonstrated abilities to protect their respective populations in the fight against terrorism, their allies are not willing to abandon them.

Indeed, on Wednesday, April 5th, in Kidal, Mali, during the celebration of the unilateral proclamation of the Republic of Azawad, the separatist rebel groups, notably the Coordination of Azawad Movements (CMA), were caught with German-made missiles.

It appears that, in the same way that France supplies weapons and ammunition to terrorists in Burkina Faso and Mali, several other European countries are following suit in supporting the separatist rebel group called Azawad, which has claimed ownership of northern Mali.

This discovery raises many questions from most African opinion leaders. The reasonable question is how Azawad acquired these German-made missiles which its fighters were caught with on Wednesday.

In this regard, the Malian Transition authorities and especially the Burkinabe authorities (given their significant involvement in the fight against terrorism) are promptly called upon to strengthen their aerial surveillance services in order to avoid regrettable surprises from the enemy’s camp.
