Togo: Colonel Dimini Allahare appointed as chief of general staff of the Armed Forces

Togo continues to reorganize and strengthen its armed forces with the promotion of Colonel Dimini Allahare to the rank of Brigadier General and his appointment as Chief of Staff of the Togolese Armed Forces (FAT) by presidential decree. This decision is part of President Faure Gnassingbé’s ongoing efforts to improve the effectiveness and coordination of his military forces.

Before his promotion, Brigadier General Dimini Allahare held the position of Director General of the Lomé-Tokoin Airport Company (SALT). He played a key role in the management and security of the Lomé Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport, where he coordinated the Security Authority (ASAIGE). Appointed to this position on February 17, 2021, Allahare succeeded Lieutenant Colonel Langbatibe Bolidja, and his tenure was marked by rigorous and effective management.

Dimini Allahare’s military career is characterized by important command positions within the Togolese army. Notably, he commanded the Paratrooper Commando Regiment, an elite unit where he demonstrated his rigor, determination, and team spirit. These qualities have made him a respected leader and have paved the way for his new responsibilities at the helm of the FAT.

Dimini Allahare’s appointment comes at a time of ongoing reorganization of the Togolese armed forces. The Togolese government seeks to strengthen the operational capacity of its armed forces, improve coordination between different units, and modernize its equipment and military strategies. By appointing an experienced and respected Chief of Staff, Togo hopes to strengthen the discipline, responsiveness, and effectiveness of its armed forces.
