Burkina Faso: Birth of COMIPEC, Another way to improve the living conditions of Burkinabe military personnel

The establishment of the Military and Paramilitary Savings and Credit Cooperative (COMIPEC) in Burkina Faso is another way for the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to improve the living conditions of his comrades-in-arms. For him, enhancing the living and working conditions of the personnel of the National Armed Forces and their families is a top priority.

For months, he has been working to turn this ambition into reality, aiming to bolster the morale of his comrades-in-arms for a successful mission, particularly in the fight against terrorism and the reconquest of national territory. In addition to enhancing the physical capacity of the military through the acquisition of equipment and strengthening their knowledge in the use of these equipment, the supreme commander of the armed forces is concerned about their social and moral well-being.

Hence, this innovative idea of establishing a military and paramilitary cooperative, following the one related to the armed forces health insurance fund, for its effective operationalization for the benefit of the military. According to the transitional president, the idea of the cooperative is to boost the morale of the combat forces. He believes that in the war being waged by Burkina, soldiers need to be strong both logistically and psychologically.

The COMIPEC is a solution to their financing problem. According to information available, it will enable the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) to address the financial constraints related to the implementation of their projects. Therefore, the Transitional President has invited them to invest in the agriculture and livestock sectors, two promising sectors in the country of upright men.
