Equatorial Guinea: When H.E. Nguema Obiang Mangue wants to bring electricity to Luba and Batete without delay

The Equatorial Guinean government is working flat out to bring electricity to the whole country. On Tuesday, H.E. Nguema Obiang Mangue brought his teams together for a working session on energy. Top priority: Luba and Batete, two towns still waiting for electricity to reach their homes.

As for Batete, the instructions are clear. The Minister for Electricity has four days to provide a detailed technical and budgetary study.

The aim: to extend the grid to this area and finally guarantee universal access to energy. A tight deadline, a firm requirement. The Vice-President wants no delays.

In Luba, things are moving forward. The preparatory stages are complete. All that remains is to take action.

Residents will soon be able to benefit from a stable electricity supply   no more power cuts, no more darkness as soon as the sun goes down. This is what development is all about.

Behind these measures lies a clear political commitment: to electrify the country, whatever the cost. H.E. Nguema Obiang Mangue is personally overseeing the project, convening meetings, following up and demanding action.

The message has been made clear to the technicians: results are needed, and fast.

Luba, Batete: two names representing thousands of families who are waiting. Soon, they will be able to switch on the lights, plug in a fridge and run a small business.
