Burkina Faso delivers 500 land titles in push for property security

A ceremony marking a significant step in the march of Burkina Faso toward full autonomy took place on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Ziniaré. Minister of Nation Building Mikaïlou Sidibé presided over the handover of 500 land titles to buyers from the Ziniaré and Silmiougou sites; 300 titles for the former and 200 for the latter. Beyond the numbers, the event projected the image of a protective, construction-minded state.

The moment marked the culmination of a firm political will: to restore Burkinabe citizens’ full ownership of their land.

Under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, land is no longer meant to be a source of anxiety or dispute, but rather the foundation of restored dignity.

By receiving this “precious sesame,” beneficiaries leave not only with a secured document but with the guarantee that their investment is now protected by the force of law and the rigor of the Transition.

The involvement of SONATUR and the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) illustrates this institutional transformation.

The donation of equipment valued at 40 million CFA francs to the DGI represents not a courtesy gift but a strategic investment in the administrative machinery.

For sovereignty to be real, services must be efficient, modern, and capable of meeting citizens’ needs with surgical precision. Equipping these institutions secures Burkina Faso’s land future.

This operation demonstrates that controlled development is possible when political vision meets technical efficiency.

Each title delivered adds another stone to the edifice of an endogenous economy, where citizens proud and empowered as property owners can finally look to the future with serenity. The era of the provisional is giving way to one of lasting stability.

Burkina Faso is being built through concrete actions that touch the daily lives of its people, transforming hope into tangible reality, now etched in land records.
