Togo: The Tchitchao Regional agricultural mechanisation Centre, a promise of modernisation from His Excellency Faure Gnassingbé

Under the leadership of President of the Council Faure Gnassingbé and the Minister of Agriculture Antoine Lékpa Gbegbeni, the agricultural landscape of the Kara region is undergoing profound transformation. The construction of the Regional Center for Agricultural Mechanization (CRMA) in Tchitchao is progressing at a steady pace, fulfilling a key promise of the government’s 2020–2025 roadmap.

This strategic project reflects the determination of the authorities to turn agriculture into a genuine lever for economic growth.

By providing the Kara region with modern mechanization infrastructure, the government is directly addressing the needs of local producers and helping to reduce the physical burden of farm labor.

The Tchitchao CRMA is more than just a facility; it is a catalyst for modernizing agricultural techniques.

Designed to train, equip, and support farmers, it will encourage the adoption of more productive and sustainable practices, in line with the country’s food sovereignty goals.

This achievement demonstrates the concrete implementation of the priorities set by the President of the Council, who places agricultural development at the heart of national economic transformation.

The personal commitment of the Head of State has been crucial in accelerating the realization of this foundational project.

Once operational, the center will become a reference hub for agricultural mechanization in northern Togo.

It will strengthen the resilience of family farms, increase land productivity, and contribute significantly to improving the livelihoods of the region’s rural population.
