Burkina Faso: Industrial gold production rises sharply in August 2025

In Burkina Faso, gold production figures continue to reflect the vitality of the mining sector, a key pillar of the national economy. According to consolidated data for August 2025, cumulative gold production reached 32.819 tonnes, representing a 6.5% year-on-year increase.

For August alone, industrial production stood at 4.569 tonnes, marking a significant increase of 14.5% compared to the same period in 2024.

This performance reflects not only the resilience of the mining sector of Burkina Faso, but also the effectiveness of the reforms and rigorous monitoring carried out by the competent authorities.

Under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, the government has placed particular emphasis on good governance of natural resources, transparency in mining management and the national development of gold production.

These efforts are now bearing fruit, strengthening the state’s financial capacity and supporting structural investments in the social sectors.

The progress made in 2025 confirms that Burkina Faso remains one of the major players in gold production in West Africa, while consolidating its ambition for responsible and sovereign mining, serving national development and the well-being of the population.
