Niger: Scientific and technological cooperation, AES and Togo join forces to build the future

The meeting between the Head of State of Niger, General Abdourahmane Tiani, and the Ministers of Higher Education and Research from the AES (Alliance of Sahel States) countries and Togo marks a decisive turning point for scientific cooperation in the Sahel region.
This meeting, held as part of the first National Forum on Scientific Research and Technological Innovation of Niger, highlighted a common ambition: to make science and technology powerful levers for development and sovereignty.
This willingness to pool resources and efforts among the Sahel states and Togo demonstrates a shared, forward-looking vision.
By harnessing research outcomes for the benefit of their populations, the participating countries affirm that knowledge is a strategic tool for addressing economic, security, and social challenges.
The Niamey forum thus becomes a symbol of a new era, where regional cooperation moves beyond declarations and becomes anchored in concrete action.
The involvement of Togo alongside the AES strengthens this dynamic and paves the way for broader scientific integration, built on solidarity, innovation, and excellence.
