Cooperation/ BAMEX 25: Mali to host inaugural defense expo with strategic turkish partnership

Bamako is set to host the first-ever Bamako Expo (BAMEX 2025), a dedicated defense industry event, from November 11-14, 2025. Held under the patronage of the Malian Presidency and the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection, the expo marks a significant step in the strategic security partnership between Africa and Turkey.

Organized by the Turkish firm Prontaron Savunma Sanayi (The Peak Defense), the event will take place at the Bamako Exhibition and Demonstration Center (FEBAK).

This debut edition will feature an exclusive lineup of Turkish defense giants, including industry leaders Baykar, ASELSAN, and MKE, showcasing their latest innovations.

BAMEX aims to distinguish itself from other exhibitions on the continent. Unlike broader events, it is focused squarely on the defense sector and will directly convene high-level African decision-makers, including heads of state, defense ministers, and military experts.

This format is designed to foster strategic dialogue, connecting specific regional security needs directly with manufacturing solutions.

According to Harun Saraç, Chairman of the BAMEX Board, the ambition extends beyond a traditional trade show.

The event will include live field demonstrations and tests, allowing African delegations to evaluate equipment performance firsthand an operational dimension that adds a rare, practical edge to the proceedings.

BAMEX 2025 is poised to usher in a new era for defense cooperation in Africa.
