Togo:  The President of the Council Faure Gnasssingbé seeks investment, partnerships at TICAD 9 in Japan

The President of the Council of Togo, Faure Gnassingbé, is participating in the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), which opened Wednesday in Yokohama. Under the theme “Co-creating Innovative Solutions with Africa,” the conference serves as a strategic platform for dialogue between African leaders, multilateral institutions, and international investors.

During his visit, the President of the Council is expected to leverage this cooperative framework to hold multiple bilateral meetings with both Japanese officials and economic operators eager to explore opportunities in Togo.

These discussions aim to strengthen partnerships and attract new investments to key sectors of the national economy.

Togo plans to capitalize on its strategic strengths, including its regionally recognized port and logistics infrastructure, its ongoing policy to ensure food sovereignty, and its notable advances in digital technology and digital mapping.

These assets position the country as a competitive and reliable gateway to the West African market.

The participation of Faure Gnassingbé in TICAD9 reflects the commitment of Togo to consolidating partnerships with Japan and the global community while promoting a development vision centered on innovation, sustainability, and economic openness.
