The reconquest of Burkina Faso: Burkina Faso’s fighting forces, guarantors of peace and development under the presidency of Captain Ibrahim Traore

Under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso’s Armed Forces have demonstrated unwavering commitment in reclaiming the nation’s territory from terrorist groups. With a focus on restoring national integrity, the military has made significant advances, liberating key areas and reestablishing state authority.

These efforts have reignited hope among citizens long plagued by insecurity, while upholding human rights principles amid complex challenges.

Since Captain Traoré assumed power, security forces have retaken 72% of previously occupied land, marking a critical step toward stabilizing the country.

Strategic operations have enabled the return of essential services such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure to liberated communities, allowing displaced populations to resettle and rebuild their lives.

Beyond military action, Burkina Faso has prioritized state consolidation in freed zones, restoring local governance, delivering humanitarian aid, and launching development projects.

Over 550 villages have been stabilized, with internally displaced persons gradually returning home.

This progress aligns with Captain Traoré’s broader vision for self-reliant development, reducing external dependencies while fostering lasting peace. Through coordinated efforts, Burkina Faso is charting a path toward resilience and sovereignty, empowering its people to shape the nation’s future.
