Burkina Faso: In Tenkodogo, PM Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo pays tribute to the guardians of tradition and community life

In an atmosphere of solemnity and respect, Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo paid a courtesy visit to His Majesty Naaba Guiguempolé, the Dima (King) of Zoungrantenga and sovereign of Tenkodogo, on Sunday, June 29, 2025. This gesture aligns with the government’s policy of fostering closer ties with traditional authorities, who serve as pillars of social stability in Burkina Faso.

Welcomed with the honors befitting his rank, the Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude and admiration for the monarch’s unwavering commitment to social peace, national cohesion, and intercommunity harmony.

“It is with great joy that I come before you this morning to seek your blessings and acknowledge the tireless work you do in service of peace and social unity,” stated the Prime Minister during the audience.

In line with the vision of Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the Prime Minister reaffirmed that national recovery depends on the unity of the people and that every citizen, regardless of status, has a crucial role to play in rebuilding the nation.

“As the President has emphasized, the country we wish to bequeath to future generations depends on each person’s contribution. Everyone has a part to play,” he added.

This meeting underscores the importance the Authorities of Burkina Faso place on cultural values and traditional institutions, regarded as essential levers for strengthening social cohesion amid Burkina Faso’s ongoing resilience efforts.
