Barcelona embarks on Asian pre-season tour after wonderful season

Fresh from securing a domestic treble, Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad will embark on an Asian tour this summer, marking their first pre-season visit to the continent since 2018.

The Blaugrana’s itinerary includes high-profile friendlies against Japanese and South Korean opposition, offering fans in the region a rare chance to see their stars in action.

While European rivals participate in the expanded Club World Cup in North America, Barcelona have chosen a different path. The Catalan giants will face Andrés Iniesta’s former club Vissel Kobe in Japan on July 27, followed by matches against FC Seoul and Daegu FC in South Korea later that week.

These encounters promise to test Flick’s squad against varied tactical approaches while serving as crucial preparation ahead of their La Liga title defense beginning August 15.

The tour represents more than just sporting preparation – it’s a strategic move to strengthen Barcelona’s commercial ties in key Asian markets.

For Flick, it offers valuable opportunities to assess his squad away from the pressures of competitive football, particularly with several anticipated new signings expected to join the traveling party.
