Football/Aston Villa’s pursuit of Loïc Badé hits initial roadblock
Aston Villa has set its sights on strengthening its defense by targeting French international Loïc Badé, currently with Sevilla. The Premier League side, sitting 8th in the table, is keen to secure Badé’s services as they prepare for the imminent departure of Diego Carlos to Fenerbahçe.
Badé, who was part of France’s Olympic squad and reached the finals of the 2024 Paris Games, is reportedly open to a move.
The allure of Champions League football and Aston Villa’s upward trajectory under their current management make the transfer an appealing prospect for the 23-year-old defender.
Villa has already initiated discussions with Sevilla, submitting an opening bid of €25 million, including €4 million in bonuses. However, the Andalusian club swiftly rejected the offer, valuing Badé at €30 million.
Sevilla views the former Rennes player as a cornerstone of their squad under head coach Francisco Javier García Pimienta and is unwilling to part with him for less.
Negotiations are expected to continue as Villa looks to strengthen its squad ahead of a demanding season. For now, Sevilla remains firm on its valuation, emphasizing Badé’s importance to their ambitions.
The next move lies with Aston Villa, as they decide whether to meet Sevilla’s demands or explore alternative options.
