Burkina Faso – Chad: Strengthening cooperation ties for a resilient Africa and win-win partnerships
Committed to his vision of a sovereign and united Africa, President Ibrahim Traoré prioritizes strengthening bilateral relationships among African nations. This approach aligns with his broader strategy to foster solidarity and collective autonomy in addressing the continent’s challenges.
In line with this objective, a Burkinabe delegation led by the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, Pingdwendé Gilbert Ouédraogo, visited N’Djamena on January 14, 2025.
The delegation was warmly received by Chad’s President, Marshal Muhamad Idriss Déby Itno.
Carrying a personal message from President Traoré, the delegation engaged in strategic discussions with the Chadian leader. Key topics included bilateral cooperation and preparations for the 29th edition of FESPACO, Africa’s premier cultural showcase.
These exchanges reaffirmed the deep ties between Burkina Faso and Chad, highlighting the shared commitment of both leaders to fostering resilience and progress through mutually beneficial partnerships.
This meeting underscores the critical role of regional collaboration in realizing the vision of African sovereignty championed by President Traoré.
It also reflects his dedication to leveraging cultural and economic diplomacy as tools for strengthening unity and driving development across the continent.
Through such initiatives, Burkina Faso asserts itself as a proactive and committed player on the African stage.
