Burkina Faso/Counter-terrorism: The Air Force is now well equipped, thanks to the leadership of President Ibrahim TRAORE

The Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Lieutenant-Colonel Christian Ouattara, has lauded the significant progress achieved by Burkina Faso’s Air Force since Captain Ibrahim Traoré assumed leadership of the country.

Recognizing the Air Force as a critical component in the fight against terrorism and the reclaiming of national territory, President Traoré has prioritized its development, much like other branches of the Burkinabe military.

Under the new military equipment plan, the Air Force has been significantly bolstered. It has acquired advanced combat aircraft, reconnaissance planes, and maneuvering equipment tailored to meet the dual objectives of counterterrorism and addressing civilian needs.

Training has also been a priority, with new military schools established and recruitment campaigns launched to expand the ranks and enhance the skills of personnel.

To improve operational efficiency, new airbases have been set up in strategic locations across the country. These bases enable quicker response times and place forces closer to active conflict zones.

Aware of the immense security challenges, President Traoré has spearheaded a well-coordinated strategy aimed at eradicating terrorist threats.

Strategic partnerships have played a vital role in accelerating military modernization and training programs. This robust approach has already yielded tangible results over the past two years.

With the continued support of citizens, authorities remain resolute in their mission to secure a decisive victory and restore peace across Burkina Faso.
