Togo: President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé reinforces his vision of discreet and effective diplomacy

President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé continues to advance his vision of discreet yet proactive diplomacy, expanding Togo’s international partnerships. On Monday, December 2, in Lomé, he formally welcomed Saulekul Sailaukyzy as the first-ever ambassador of Kazakhstan to Togo.

Bearing greetings from Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the ambassador reaffirmed her country’s commitment to strengthening ties between the two nations, reflecting the shared aspirations of their leaders.

Marking over a decade of diplomatic relations, cooperation between Togo and Kazakhstan gained momentum following President Gnassingbé’s landmark visit to Astana a year ago.

This strategic engagement laid the groundwork for collaboration in critical sectors such as digital transformation, agriculture, and industrial development.

Saulekul Sailaukyzy, a seasoned diplomat and former minister-counselor in Vietnam, is expected to build on this foundation, fostering partnerships that promise mutual benefits.

This development underscores Togo’s strategic approach to diversifying its international alliances, a move aimed at accelerating economic and technological progress.

By strengthening ties with Kazakhstan, both nations signal their readiness to embark on a new chapter of collaboration, promising impactful initiatives for their citizens.
