Football/ Southampton target Endrick on loan after struggling for minutes at Real Madrid
Southampton are reportedly eyeing a loan move for Real Madrid’s Brazilian starlet Endrick, as the teenager finds himself sidelined in Spain. Despite a highly anticipated transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2024, the 18-year-old forward has struggled to secure consistent playing time under Carlo Ancelotti.
Endrick, a rising star in Brazilian football, has only played 55 minutes of La Liga action, although he managed to score and assist in that brief time.
With fierce competition for places from established stars like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo, the young talent’s progress at Madrid has been slower than expected.
According to Spanish media, Southampton are one of the clubs monitoring the situation and could offer Endrick the opportunity to gain regular first-team experience in the Premier League. The Saints, currently at the bottom of the table and lacking a creative spark, are in desperate need of an injection of attacking flair.
With reports suggesting that clubs like AS Roma and Real Valladolid are also interested, Southampton will have to fend off competition for the forward’s signature.
Endrick’s admiration for English football, including Manchester United legend Bobby Charlton, could further fuel his desire to showcase his skills in the Premier League.
A loan move to St. Mary’s could be the perfect platform for him to shine and continue his development.
